Red face TORONTO | The Upper East Village | 326 FT, 247 FT, 207 FT / 99,75,63M | 28,21,18 FL

Proposed on the site of 939 Eglinton Ave East are a series of 3 towers featuring luxury units and retail spaces with some amenities. This is replacing a somewhat new retail plaza, which over the last few months has been torn down except for a small wing of it which has two remaining tenants. I've kept track of the site's demolition over time, which has been intriguing as a long time resident of the area. Anyways, this site will sit right near a stop on the Crosstown streetcar project, which runs on the north edge of the site.
The website for the project is here;

Is the new LRT spurring this development with the conversion of a strip mall into condos?

Yes, it is. This is something we're seeing across Eglinton, albeit in select cases.

Yesterday, taken off my cell phone

The Eastside Village complex is now rising above the street, with four cranes dotting what is a lowrise part of the city....can't believe we'll see some siazble buildings here:

Two days ago, the other phase to the right is now 2 floors toward Eglinton, and not quite a floor near where this photo was taken in the back:

Embarrassing name aside, it's good to see lots of development occurring on the main arterial roads.

I took these photos three days ago:
The current remaining parking lot and plaza where this photo was taken will be demolished in time...
..then the next two phases of this project will start. Here's the current phase from behind:

This is where the 28 floor tower will be, which will be absolutely massive for this area.

It's been nearly a year since my last update. Since then, they've nearly finished the podium, and are yet to start on the big tower. I assume it's been delayed, which is fine by me...the local Timmies here is very convenient.
