Oh yes. Coyotes often follow riverbeds and washes, concrete-lined or not.

Where I live in South Pas, I see coyotes, skunks, racoons... and of course feral parrots, as well as feral peacocks and peahens.

It's funny because I've seen a few coyotes cross at unsignalized crosswalks, and wait for the green light at intersections at night. They've really gotten used to being around humans and possibly even follow human behavior.

Same here, and I've lived in both cities. All cities have pests. And using the number of complaints as a gauge of the severity of the issue is bogus. Residents of some American cities might tolerate certain pests like rats more than others without complaining, but that does not mean their problem is less if they don't complain. Does anyone think NYC trash problem is less than Omaha's because NYC residents may not be too upset if trashed is piled high because that may be more of an normal occurrence in that big crowded city?

The only times I've seen urban rats were in cities with subways. Every city with one had teams of rats on the tracks plotting against the human race.

I did see a 'possum, though, which is kind of like a rat with a pouch, which I presume is where they keep their pizza.

Yep. Presumably London has rats in parts (particularly east, in places like Shoreditch, which is basically like Lower Manhattan in built form). But where I am is close enough to a park that there are foxes patrolling the neighborhood at night, and those things will get right into the burrows and eat the young.

Much like some cities use goats to keep vegetation at bay they could use minks to keep rats at bay.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said it plans to “immediately dispatch humane rodent abatement measures to the area” following footage that showed two rodents underneath a raised table where passengers can charge their phones. It remains unclear if the rodents seen in the footage are mice or small rats. 

Coady Ahern, who took the video and posted it to social media, said it was taken Thursday at a gate for Spirit Airlines.

“I was waiting for my flight and couldn’t believe it," Ahern said. "It was so disgusting to see rats playing under the table.”
