Just going some of the past comments on this project and we had it half way built by the time of the Super Bowl. I wish or thoughts could have come true.

I was thinking its been 3 years since this project got posted. Its funny reading all the old comments. I was going to say it's never going to get built, but then Central Station was posted in 2014 and didn't break ground till 8 years later so maybe there's some hope lol.

My prediction for Astra....and as you all are aware I am very wise....that the site will become Astra Broadstone or Alta Astra...maybe a 5 story over a podium development...I think that's what will probably materialize.

I feel like Astra will get built but idk if it will be the same renderings we saw a couple years ago. The delay could be a lot of things but I feel good about this project.

I believe what bothers us is no latest info on where the project (updates).

Isn’t Astra the same builder as The Stewart and Aspire? I wanna say Aspire topped out like two years ago and is still not open. The website looks like it’s due to open this summer. I have a picture where Aspire looked pretty much done but The Derby wasn’t even half way built yet. In fact if you look at Google Earth, Aspire is higher than The Derby and The Derby has been open for a while now! I hope this isn’t a sign of bad things for Astra. Maybe with the sale of Aspire during construction caused the delays?

The Stewart was loaded with construction defects, maybe they're playing it safe this time as they remediate them.

I have emailed Empire Group and ABC 15 to get any update on this project and no response. I asked ABC 15 if they could follow up on their story (https://www.abc15.com/news/business/...-tallest-tower) and no response, and it's been over 1 month since I emailed ABC 15. I also emailed Empire Group directly to get any kind of update and no response. So, whatever is happening it is definitely a secret. Which keeps me hopeful a little bit. Also, not sure if they would respond to little old me (anonymous) person anyways.

Current interest rates will make the debt for this project considerably more expensive. And developers are very concerned with multifam right now because of rate volatility. A lot of owners buy with non fixed interest rates and are really taking it in the shorts now. Plus rents are no longer going up. I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't impact more projects.

HaHa for real. Everything that gets posted here generally gets built within a year or so. If it was going to happen it would have already, only Central station took forever and that went through multiple Rpf and developers. I'm not sure what's more frustrating, that we can't get anything built over 400 feet or when i see a message on this post i for some crazy reason think it's going live lol

I'm in the same boat.

I'm going to to go ahead and lock this thread in the perpetual absence of other news. Anyone who has something real on it should msg me or Crested and we'll all celebrate or mourn anything official together.

Astra Still Alive Boys!

From the upcoming DVC meeting agenda on Saturday, June 10th, look at item below:
  • Astra Project - Update and Development agreement discussion (GPLET) ~ Xandon Keating - Community and Ecconomic Development / Nick Wood - Snell & Wilmer (50 Minutes)

(Mods - feel free to move to locked Astra thread)

Hopefully we will see a radical new design because we all know how these projects in Phoenix often differ from their original drawings. Something a little less boxy would be nice but I would take this either way. I just hope they don't lower the height but anything is possible.

I think Empire is set on making Astra the tallest. But I don't see much in the way of changes. Unfortunately, almost everyone is building boxy buildings these days.

Does anyone know the time and location of the DVC meeting on Saturday? Usually open to the public, right? Thanks.
