I have created a map on Microsoft Live for all the current projects underway in Urban HRM.

Google Maps Version
Microsoft Live Version.

Here's the breakdown (proposed-approved-u/c--rumored-study)

Bedford: 02 (00-02-00-00-00)
Dartmouth: 10 (03-02-05-01-00)
Halifax: 38 (10-08-13-01-03)
---------------------------
Total: 48 (13-12-18-02-03)

The color scheme goes like this;

Red - Proposed
Yellow- Approved
Green- U/C
White- Rumored
Pink- Study

Nice map. A couple of additions I can think of are the brewery tower and the Herald lands.

Also, Microsoft Live has much newer aerial photos than Google Earth for Halifax right now.

I tried Microsoft Live but it would'nt let me save the picture. Only Google Earth allows me to save the picture.

But i did make a collections folder on Microsoft Live with all the developments in it HERE. It's a lot better quality.

For now I only have the developments downtown but I will slowly add more around the peninsula.

EDIT: I added the Alexander in the Microsoft Live version

Two things;

Can someone check my placement of "Theatre Lofts"?

and. I'm not clear on the exact boundaries for the Herald Lands. Does anyone know the exact buildings?

Theatre lofts should be across the street (west side of Gottingen) and in the same block as the Falkland development. Like this..

|| Falkland Building - Palookas Gym - TheatreLofts - Existing buildings||
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Herald Lands are the 2 blocks bounded by Argyle, Sackville, Market and Prince. Grafton cuts though the centre of this block North/South.

Also, are you sure that Trinity takes the north end of the lot? Right now that part is occupied by the National Art building. I thought it was just on the land where the church was.

It might be the buildings looked similar from the aerial photographs so i thought it might be part of the church. I'll redraw that.

Thanks "terrynorthend"

Thanks "Spitfire" its 43 and counting...

Morris and Queen is part of the Old Infirmary Lands that is under study right now. That block is proposed to have mid-density residential and commercial, some parkland, and the new library. Dal owns that corner of that lot so its up to them right now.

Just thought I would let everyone know that since no new projects have come forward I have created a "rumor" category for the map. Currently theres only two projects under this category and I am going to use my discretion as to what projects get put under this.

They have to have some element of realism and they logically would have to make sense.

Right now the VG parking lot is rumored to become a park and a lot off of Woodland Ave is rumored to become a couple more condo towers.

Looks pretty good. I spotted two you missed, the new bio-science building that will be going in next to the Tupper Building on Dal's campus and the Urchin project in downtown Dartmouth at the foot of Portland Street. Penhorn Mall might need a mention too.

Thanks Spaustin I'll add those. THe Biosciences Building is already in. It tied together with the LSRC next door. From the limited pictures I've seen it looks like they'll be connected in some form any way.

Kind of. It was a part of a larger waterfront development that is moving forward in several stages.

Unfortunately, it's the kind of thing that makes the heritage people go apeshit (oh those greedy developers, always building condos condos condos and nothing for regular people to enjoy) and I don't see how it's worth years of legal battles for the developer. I don't expect that it will be built, although it would have been very nice, with views of the whole city and harbour.

Okay I cannot find a way to fix the problem on Microsoft Live so instead I am in the process of recreating the map onto a new collection in Google Maps. Its a work in progress for now but I am adding more.

I wonder when they'll update the imagery for the Halifax area on Google Maps..? It's highly out of date now.

By the way, the McCully Worklofts will have roughly double that footprint, and go about halfway down that block (3 buildings will remain to the west, plus the surface parking by Robie).

^Thanks Someone123 I fixed the McCully boundaries.

How old are the images anyways? I was trying to guess but I got confused as soon as I noticed that Spice wasn't even u/c (form at least). If Spice isn't under construction then the pictures must be ancient

I believe I have added all projects possible but to be honest theres so many I really don't know. If someone could just take a quick look and see if theres any missing it would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks a bunch for making this. I really appreciate it. :-)

It was mentioned earlier about new condo towers off Woodland somewhere? I see there's no colour code for it or maybe I just missed it
