Harlem Avenue - border between Oak Park and River Forest. 7200 W, most importantly in this context - the end of the line for this train.

It's strange - the John Hancock Center is so close to being another average 60s slap of black office space, but it's that very subtle decreasing width as it gets higher, the slightly diagonal sides, that makes it near genius. It happens to be a really, really great skyscraper, something rare for the 60s and 70s. It compliments Chicago's skyline really nicely too, I'm not sure it would work as well in, say, lower Manhattan, since Chicago seems to have just the right amount of space between skyscrapers for the Hancock Center, just the right density.

being that it's 400 degrees below zero right now, i thought this bright summertime sunshine shot of big john and friends would be nice to look at.

^Very nice; sailboats out there and everything. This picture definitely doesn't make me yearn for summer that much, though; I love winter way too much to wish for any other season right not. Nice perspective on that shot; is that from your pad?

harryc, that shot from Chicago and Lombard in Oak Park is totally sweet.

i wish. that shot is from the roof of my building, but my unit is far lower down on the 33rd floor with a much less spectacular view.

here's the view of big john from my balcony:

^Cool angle there, andydie. You captured my two favorite Vancouver transplants, too.

And great shots harryc and cbotnyse.

From the North and Clybourn mega-mall:

I love how it anchors the Mag Mile cluster. It's as if everything else attracts to that perfect taper and appropriately bows down.
