Dreary Downtown

These were taken by a friend of mine with some extraordinary photographic talent. Taken in the rain with umbrella in one hand and camera in the other, the dreary weather and the black + white combined sort of bring to mind the imagery from a Tom Waits spoken word piece. To me, this down-and-out potential is part of the city's greatness. I'm sharing them here with his permission. Enjoy.

Awesome.
