Different elevators are used for garages and the other spaces in almost every example for this type of structure I can think of around the world. There will be several elevator cores.

Just over 60% are below grade (LL4 - LL1) and the rest are above grade (L3 - L7).

This does not explain why more below than above...so far. Can not a separate core go up just as easily as down?

Shouldn't the name be changed to One Chicago (no "square" anymore)?

One Chicago seems to be somewhat overloaded already:

^Yes. New buildings under 1000 feet should just be known (referenced to) by their address.

Maybe, but also this is a two tower development sharing an active base taking up *essentially* a whole city block 31ft short of 1000ft. This thing deserves a name, and an iconic one at that.

Basement space takes up the whole site and is almost exclusively parking. Above grade floors include other uses as mentioned - apartments, office space, retail, etc. There is less area available above grade.

The residential parking areas also include a lot of tandem spots for valet parking.

Not sure if the cages are for the secants - or the other piers they are sinking with the belled bottoms.

Secant Away

I think this is for the secant wall

The render of OCS in this article seems to be the latest with less dramatic setbacks and the shorter building taking a page out of Essex!

Or it could just be me!

as best as i can tell, the renderings below most closely match the current plans, with the truncated top.

5/9. Best I could do in a speeding cab. The site is extremely impressive, I'll try to make it down there to get some more comprehensive shots of the construction.

^ Great capture. Compared to the size of the crane, that is a YUUUUGE rebar cage. Most definitely a caisson for the main tower.

Great eye! It was massive, the picture definitely doesn't do that cage justice.

Banana signal?

The following are triggers for bananas:

1. Foundation drilling
2. New announcements of kick ass towers
3. Landing construction financing of kick ass towers
4. New major job announcements and/or HQ relocations to the city
5. When NIMBY lawsuits get tossed out of court

Did I miss any?
