Excellent update! Welcome!

I would suggest to use [spoiler] tags for large image posts in the future, just so there's less scrolling required to read the thread.

Excellent update! Welcome to the forum!

Who was the former forumer who used to give us regular photo updates? He disappeared.

T-Mac and then there was someone else who occasionally posted photo updates after him.

Great to see The Exchange getting its cladding, haven't been down there much recently. It's looking very nice!

Very good to see some of the progress on the infill developments as well. Thanks a bunch for the pictures!

/\/\/\ Cladding? Maybe I'm missing something, but if you are referring to the black stuff, that is a fluid-applied weather barrier membrane that is applied before the exterior cladding is installed over it.

Is it weird that I actually think the black looks super awesome?

Black is cool, but this is what it's going to look like with the cladding applied:

UtPlanner, Makid or anyone who knows. Are there plans to bury those utility lines, at least in front of these attractive new projects? Burying those lines along 600 S. has to be one of my fondest wishes for downtown Salt Lake. I can't imagine Class A projects wanting those giant utility lines gunking up the fronts of their developments.

The only lines that I am aware of that are being buried are the lines on 3rd West in front of The West Quarter. They are remaining along the remaining section of 3rd West, at least currently.

Someone stated earlier that the crane at 95 State is at roughly 500 feet. After driving around and looking at the skyline from several directions today I think 500 foot tower would look really good. It’s time. The skyline is ready!!

Also there looks like there will be two cement cores for the CCH. Both rebar structures are about as tall as the convention center already. That thing is going to have a huge impact on the skyline.

Do any of you think that there is a chance that the outdoor retail expo could come back to the salt Palace? That was a huge loss for the city.

CCH will bring us a ton of larger conventions. Will be really good for the hospitality industry downtown. OR may not return but there will be others to take its place once all this Covid stuff is behind us.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I don't know what I'm talking about, clearly. Either way it's nice to see it getting close.

It will fill in the skyline for sure. No longer when I'm walking from Harmons to TRAX will there be a huge blank spot to the west. I love seeing the cranes rising from that angle - I'll try to get a picture next time I go to Harmons.

I believe it is either the LDS Church or Goldman Sachs.
