We Asked and We Received Renderings For the Gotham Buildings Project

At 2024 N. 2nd Street in South Kensington.

From: http://www.ocfrealty.com/naked-phill...ldings-project

Ronald McDonald Expansion using two floors of steel, then more of the load baring (aluminum?) partitions we've seen at Lincoln Square and The Hamilton. Concrete slab flooring. Wondering if this will be a general trend for midrise buildings?

This would be great! There are a number of vacant lots and buildings/housing in disrepair on the block and surrounding blocks. I think this is an area that will pop eventually. I'm going to be on the lookout for opportunities to buy something around here for ground-up construction or renovation.

I'm a little surprised by that project since I thought that building was still being used by an active industrial concern.

New construction is seeping into the Norris Square area from three directions -- I'd be willing to bet money that half of the lots in the area will be redeveloped in a decade.

Not all the surprised. The Eagles are in position to possibly go on a run over the next few years, Liberty needs to pool their resources so they can keep building new tallest-in-the-city towers with Billy Penn statues on them to keep the wins coming.

I'm totally in agreement with Norris Square; it's in such an ideal central spot with great roadways and transit options. Plus, the park itself is huge -- like Rittenhouse size or maybe a little bigger. I'm a bit believer that American Ave should be redeveloped and turned into a main road like Broad St -- it could handle it.

Agree completely and American is just primed for re-use and continued office development - it’s proximity to so much residential makes it a good bet.

Big news for Old City/No Libs/Callowhill East:

https://philly.curbed.com/2018/2/6/1...rts-and-crafts

Will be very interested to see how this goes. This area could sure stand to have some residential included (contrary to the quote from the developer), but Arts + Crafts has a pretty good track record, so i’m excited to see what’s to come.

New pics of the Hale Building. Especially digging the new copper cladding on the second story dormers along Juniper!

Excited that they are really doing this right!

I am amazed at the potential of the area between 2nd & 9th and Spring Garden & Callowhill. Large parcels open for development in the middle of some of the densest neighborhoods. I would sure like to see some coordination with updating the districts infrastructure to better accommodate new mixed-use development. An infrastructure that develops a distinctive look. Pedestrian/bike friendly. I would like to see industrial influenced buildings and scale. A district comprised mostly of 6-12 story structures punctuated with towers, particularly around Spring Garden MFL Station. A master plan might attract other developers, tho I wouldn't be surprised if these properties are locked in with someone. This district has such amazing potential. Adjacent to some of the cities most promising neighborhoods. The hole in the middle of Old City, Callowhill, No. Libs. Chinatown. A future vibrant waterfront?

I love this building, but damn...it's such an architectural mess. It's like Hale kept having mini-strokes as he went from floor to floor designing the building. It's completely incoherent, but somehow awesome.
