Love seeing the work to the neutral ground continue on Napoleon! It's going to look great once the trees fill out like they did lakeside of Claiborne. Does anyone have any idea how those projects were funded? Is that NORD money?

as far as I know its part of the SELA funds used to build the drainage underneath.. the usually wait to install landscaping after construction wraps to give time for any issues to show up and make it easier to fix and also not waste the money on landscaping only to have to rip it back up.

The Club MSY will open on January 30th. Here are some photos of the club that were shared to the local spotters page. . Nice that the club will have showers available for any passengers connecting through the airport.

The Design-Build transformation of a former Hurwitz Mintz furniture store on Royal Street is now complete. Located directly across from the iconic Hotel Monteleone, the four-story historic renovation of 211 Royal Street involved reimagining two interconnected buildings for mixed-use. The 39,000 SF property, designed by Studio WTA, now comprises 12 residential apartments and 2 penthouses, as well as interchangeable retail spaces throughout the ground and second floors. #palmisanoprojects @ Royal Street - French Quarte

Crews are continuing to repave Union Street in the Central Business District. When complete, this block will feature upsized drainage and a pervious parking lane to hold storm water and gradually allow it to move into our drainage system. @mayorcantrell @cityofnola #cityofyes @mayorcantrell The City Of NOLA

Yes it will!

The Club MSY at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is scheduled to open in January 2020, shortly after the opening of the new terminal.

The club, operated by Airport Dimensions, will join a growing family of pay-per-use airport lounges in the US. Members of popular lounge access schemes Priority Pass and Lounge Club will be welcome.

The Club MSY will feature comfortable seating with ample power outlets, work spaces, a variety of snacks, complimentary alcoholic beverages, and a shower room. Seating options will include ergonomic work chairs, swivel lounge chairs, highly-private cube chairs, reclining chairs with ottomans, and dining tables and booths.

The decor will incorporate a deconstructed crystal chandelier crafted from over 600 hand-blown glass pendants created by a local artist.

The bad PR is really piling on for Kailas....

https://www.nola.com/news/business/a...def30ed8e.html

This article tells us why they haven't been able to move forward with the full renovation yet, but also just paints Kailas as unprofessional and borderline illegal...

On another note, I imagine people here know more than me about how developers cover their butts with each development... but with the Hard Rock disaster, what are the penalties/losses one would expect for the builders (Citadel) and the developers (Kailas and co.)?

I know people in the building. They all got eviction notices last fall on month to month leases. You’re right the PR is bad but these guys are squatting. This normally wouldn’t be a story, or minimally it would be balanced coverage.

As for the other building, developers normally don’t build or engineer so I assume Kailas is going to be ok. The builder or engineer is going to have a problem.

We all agree that the Kailas family has a checkered history, but that law firm should start actively looking for new office space. They have been evicted and should vacate the space.
