Hahaha. This thing looks like it was built to withstand Godzilla.

Haha funny one, more like the exact opposite. I actually do think this might be the ugliest building ever to be designed/proposed/built.

I can imagine the outrage if something like this happened here.

What a hunk of junk.

It's frustrating to me the amount of negative comments that non-American style skyscrapers seem to garner on this forum. I fail to see what is so superior about the cookie cutter office towers being built in New York which almost always invariably end up as rectangular prisms clad in blue glass or the pencil thin residential towers that make absolutely no sort of economic or engineering sense except in the context of the ultra-rich having an insatiable desire to outdo one another for the best views. This tower is far from my favorite, but labeling it as a "hunk of junk" hardly seems fair. It certainlly seems much more interesting to me than half the towers proposed for NYC if only due to its novelty although I don't think you'll ever have to worry about it being built there since it looks too massive to even fit on a city block.

First of all, there are plenty of daring and unique designs going up in NYC. Secondly, this building in particular is getting critiqued because it's almost universally ugly. Third, if you want to talk about the ultra-rich, try India: http://hbowatch.com/vice-episode-05-...rs-a-review-2/

Few photos found on SCC.

Notice how massive this building looks compared to other towers.

This just may b my least favorite supertall. It looks like a future prison from a bad sci fi movie.

I'm not impressed by the building, but Mumbai the city is looking better all the time.

Looks like the megablock from Dread.

Almost large enough to be an ARCO if it was mixed use.

Mumbai High Court Rules on Illegal Construction at the Palais Royale

Quote:
In a fresh setback for one of India's tallest skyscrapers, Palais Royale at Worli, the Bombay High Court held on January 27 that the top 13 floors of the 56-story building, as well as a 15-story public parking tower next to it, were “completely illegal.”

A division bench of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice C V Bhadang called it a “brazen defiance” of rules and has left it to the municipal commissioner to decide the fate of these two structures. Shree Ram Urban Infrastructure Ltd (SRUIL) has been allowed to apply for fresh commencement and development permission from the Brihanmumbai Municpal Corporation (BMC) for the parking tower as well as for regularizing the 13 floors. Whether any of the 13 upper floors can be saved would depend on the BMC's decision. They have four months to decide on the issue.
