^Good catch. I don't remember this detail, but it makes sense just looking at what is already in place. One can only imagine the high cost of replicating on each and every floor the beautifully-proportioned and finely-detailed facade on those first five floors.

It also appears that the work progresses at a pace of 24 hours a day.

I could swear that the core is smaller or reduced in size at some point.
Does anyone know?
Good estimate. It's 3.83 days per floor, since April 9, when they started cranking out the steel, after a 15 day delay. This delay was probably due to not being able to raise the cranes, without having to secure it to the steel.

The core changes shape at floor 50. See links below:

You'd have to ask Mr. Pelli, but I'd bet it's a design issue unrelated to cost.

The kitchen at my firm was just renovated, and I just noticed a sliver of Salesforce Tower is visible from one of the windows in there! Maybe I'll post a pic later.

In the next day or two, the top of the inner forms will be at floor 50. 3 or 4 days after that, the forms should start to change shape, as the top of the inner forms will be at floor 51.

How is it fake? It's not relying on a spire to make super tall status like so many other projects.

So, the facade is chunkier than I thought it would be.

We can watch this building going up from our building on Bush & Stockton. It's about even with the buildings on Montgomery near Market.

I think I like the metal screen more than the original fritted glass. Can't wait to visit when it's complete.
