I love how this one brings a distinct Chicago style to the south loop. It's an instant classic.

On another note, I am quite interested in how they will address the exposed core on the north facade of the tallest "tube". Renderings show continuous glass and spandrels. Are these floors occupied?
Based on the renderings I think the central core is actually the second tallest tube, with the south center tube extending several "floors" higher as what I assume is all mechanical screen

It looks like there is a recess in the sides of the core to allow it to be clad with glass to match the rest of the tower. Some of these floors are occupied with apartments facing south and west, but the elevators or stair must be right against that north core wall. It looks like each elevator lobby...or maybe that is part of a unit will have a window facing east.

Per this NEMA email, looks like the final height will be 896 feet. They are 100 feet away!

I was worried the crown might appear undersized, but the fact they still have 100' and it already looks less stubby than in the renders, has me that much more excited for this one.

So since it has 100 feet left, it should be topped out by late December?

not from me.

i've been a big fan of this tower from day one.

here's my post from page one of this thread over 3 years ago when all we had seen at that point was a small rendering of just the base of this tower:

Judging by the rendering above, I think you’re right! It appears the central core is nearly topped out and the south tube will rise 5 extra-high floors above the central core.

I wonder what they will do with the half-block between the building and Michigan before something is built there. Some food trucks would be nice
