Those ropes are to keep it propped up...remember its root system is still weak from the nor'easter which knocked it over earlier in the year while still at the nursery. I'm sure they'll be removed in due time.

Am I imaging it or can you start to make out the outline of the transit hub?

Also something cool to point out is that it looks like they're starting to expose the subway on the east side of the hub.

That's an understatement for sure. It has far exceeded anything I could have ever imagined. From all the the great photos so many have posted (which I thank you immensely), I think it is sublimely beautiful.

I'd say a big ground level improvement beyond 10 years. As much as I loved the old WTC, the ground level was never that great.

Anybody know what's up with the ground zero webcam?

http://www.earthcam.com/clients/grou...groundZero.swf

I know watching approaching thunderstorms is cool, but this cam is supposed to show construction of the Memorial.

I miss watching what's going on in the east bathtub.

Anyone know of an alternate webcam with that view??

It's facing the Memorials now. On 9/11, they had 8 different webcams up, dunno what happen to them. For now the only way to see the bathtub is through this webcam.

Funny, last night the ground zero webcam was directed back down on the Memorial.

Today, it's back up looking at Jersey.

Looks like a lovely day in the metropolitan area.

I think this cam moves from ground view to city view on a regular basis. Right now it's showing the memorial again.

If that's the case, it's first time in its history that it's done that. Before the memorial's opening, that cam was glued in the same position.

Is the Survivor Tree always going to need those supporting cables or will it grow straighter and eventually not need them?
