This was the Harrah's rendering for comparison

New chapel at Loyola is spectacular! Bold, clean and simple, if built it will rival chapel at Xavier Univ. and our new Airport Terminal as one of New Orleans most breathtaking contemporary structures. Inspiring!
Also, thoroughly unrelated, the new hotel at Caesar's seems to be a marked improvement to the POS presented by Harrah's. Again, clean and understated and much more elegant than its predecessor. Also think it will compliment beautifully restored Four Seasons! And it hides most of the abomination that replaced the magnificent Rivergate. (Still can't believe it was removed for what we got)! Anyway, win-win IMO.

The new rendering is extremely boring and low budget in my opinion, it looks like something built on a low budget 🤷🏼♂️ I much rather the original one in my opinion

I guess it will come down to materials used... I think it will be nice if nice finishes used but I can see it looking cheap if not. Hurrahs always had that suburban hotel look even in the renderings

I think the tower will be refined some but the overall plan is much nicer. And without a doubt they will renovate the other hotel tower to make the whole thing cohesive. That said this new tower looks much wider than old one but the demo area hasnt changed . Must just be perspective. Also this tower will have to go through design review with city andni think they will request more out the tower portion

As far as new amenities, we can definitely expect a Sport Book now that it has been legalized in Orleans Parish

Another entrance rendering.. i think corner of poydras and s peters

Overall happy to see the actual god awful postmodern casino structure get a significant upgrade that's not as cheesy and looks alot more clean.

Also that Trahan chapel is beautiful, they're by far the best arch firm in town

Agreed! Trahan is simply world class

As for the Casino I totally agree. In a city like NOLA it needs to be clean and fresh, not some cheesy ripoff design.

Yes, the Trahan chapel is awesome. Catholic institutions often spring for good architecture, that new addition at Sacred Heart is awesome as well.

Caesars is very disappointing. The old Harrah's design for the tower wasn't great but at least it was an appropriate height and massing for that site, and had some nice echoes of traditional 1920s towers in the CBD. The new one just looks like a boring airport hotel. Also if they're changing the interior theming, that would be ironic... if there's one place where a Mardi Gras theme should not go out of fashion, it is New Orleans. sigh.

I suppose but its also kind of trite here as well. I am curious what they go for inside but i do think the hotel tower could use some embellishments

I mean the current Mardi Gras theme is cheesy AF, no doubt, but at least it’s related to the culture. It’s a tourist sacrificial zone anyway, might as well give the tourists what they want

Vaucresson Sausage building new market, restaurant in New Orleans' 7th Ward

Cool to see this old grocery being brought back

https://www.nola.com/entertainment_l...105bc0308.html

Juicy, peppery-shot links from Vaucresson Sausage Co. are an integral part of local family recipes, restaurant menus and the annual food lineup for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Vance Vaucresson, the keeper of his family’s brand, wants to make the company an integral part of Seventh Ward neighborhood life again. This week marked a milestone on that quest.

Work is now underway to redevelop the longtime home of Vaucresson Sausage on the corner of St. Bernard Avenue and North Roman Street.

Hey everyone I have a question, when do y’all think the Domain Company will announce the 6th phase at South market? If I’m not mistaken they had said it would be announced sometime at the end of the year and well it’s getting close. So I just wanted to know if anyone heard anything floating around.
