The front looks much better than the backside. It is horrible looking at the south elevation from my Balcony.
At least the backside isn't as bad as 'Marriot Wish.com' on Rideau. I still can't believe the side facing Parliament and the Byward Market has become one of the greatest offences committed on the public realm in this city's history.
Looking forward to seeing the front facade finished with that copper trim, I think it’ll look really sharp and will complement the stone and dark window mullions well. Retail would have been nice, maybe even a destination restaurant to attract people to this part of sparks.
I can't see that combo given it's a retirement home. It would already have a restaurant built in for the residents and maybe their own little tuck shop.
Brigil tower at 460 St.Laurent overlooking Notre-Dame Cemetery has the roof top restaurant accessible to the public. Would be great if they could do the same.
First photo showing the podium out of alignment with the upper building is quite interesting. Makes it look like the upper section of the building is supposed to turn . Now wouldn't that be cool!
