Interchange Area Commercial Building is going to be a new Sobeys. The whole development there is going to be called Hemlock Square. There also appears to be what I am guessing to be a Tim Hortons also under construction right now. Its at the first entrance to Hemlock Square off of Starboard Dr.

Unknown Building I is part two of The Brichview. Building one is now open and being occupied.

^Thanks for the updated info.

The Unknown building did strike me as being built by the same company as Birchview but that was solely based on the angle of the building (the two point towards each other).

I was looking for online renderings of the Agricola@West project and somehow ended up seeing this;

BD Stevens Ltd. is excited to begin the new 14,000 sq. ft. home for Good Life Fitness off of Larry Uteck at Hemlock Square.

I'll throw some photos up later this weekend but just some things I noticed;

- Framing is progressing quickly on the Sobey's store at Hemlock Square
- The rumoured Tim Horton's for HS has a foundation in at the first entrance on Starboard (the one with traffic signals)
- Parking lot foundation is going in at HS
- Excavation is occuring across LUB on another commercial area
- The base for what appears to be a street is in on Nine Mile Drive
- 630 LUB has most of its first floor support beams in
- The vacant commercial lot at Southgate and LUB will be called Southgate Village (to be completed by Summer 2011)
- 420 LUB is now working on its second floor
- Gardens Luxury II has most if its exterior installed
- A more decorative sign is being installed at the Birchview
- The former sales centre at the bottom of Southgate (near the Tides) has been moved (may be the new one on LUB near Birchview)

Just two photos this time. One is of the foundation for (presumably) Tim Horton's and the other is the framing for Sobey's;

Took my first drive up there is morning. I didn't use the complete roundabout system but used one of them to turn around. What a pile of developments taking place. Every street seems to have something being built, whether it be an apartment building or a new house. I was impressed. I liked how that new School turned out as well. I'm referring to the one with the blue, yellow and I believe green window panes in it.

May or may not get photos this weekend but the front exterior is up for the two buildings in Hemlock Square. Looking at the details the angled one will be a Sobey's and the one near the stoplights could be anything for now, though a fast-food joint or Tim's is not excluded yet.

I managaed to hold off for one hour before caving into the pressure my camera presents with wandering around town;

And for forumers who may be homesick (or just too lazy to drive to Bedford) here is a video I shot through the interchange area;

I would fall into the lazy category.

The scale of these developments is massive.

Too bad there wasn't any traffic. The resulting crash videos with all those roundabouts would have been quite entertaining.

I was excited at first to hear what I thought was a Buggles tune, but it quickly degenerated into some sort of ripoff crap that just sampled the original song.

Thank you dmajackson - great job I think there were two roundabouts at the highway interchange. So that would be this interchange (Larry Uteck Boulevard) shown in blue in your image below: (Before long, Halifax and Bedford will be indistinguishable in terms of where each starts and ends)

(source: dmajackson)

............^
Did it take long to upload the video to YouTube? Hopefully you will be posting more of these in the future.

QUESTION: What is the new roadway to the left (west) of Kearney Lake that connects to the highway 102? It pasts through an area that is labeled as future development. (above the arrow which is under the image)

Thanks guys.

To answer some questions there's three roundabouts in the video (right to left on map) in order they are Nine Mile/Starboard, 102 NB, and 102 SB. Right now traffic is steady on them but not heavy. As Sobey's and other commercial businesses open next door it will become busier in the area.

The corridor is for Highway 113. It's not expected to be built for anther 25 years so it will be left as a greenbelt while this area is built out.

It did take awhile to upload the video (over an hour) but I may still take more if I can think of some good things to film (PM me if you have an idea).

Great job DJ; despite the fact it's a horrible remix of the original song!
I'm looking forward to going through these when I fly home as my mom sold her house in Fairview and moved into the existing condos on Bedros Lane (to the left of the red multi family block on the right side of the diagram in Fenwick's post) - she's used them all and she likes them a lot. So I'll enjoy using them when I go visit my cousin who lives on Mailing Street (just by Bayer's Road) - will make coming and going so much easier!

Watch out - Mailing St is where HRM cops live half the day while manning speed traps enriching HRMs treasury and meeting their ticket quota, catching unwitting drivers coming off the 102.

At least your cousin probably is in a low-crime area.

Oh I've known that for a while now, which is why I make sure coming down the ramp I'm at the speed limit. Besides, it's not my car it's my mom's and the last thing I need is to hear her screaming at me for a speeding ticket!
