Ok, so maybe they haven't halted the towers, but Menkes priority with this project is obviously elsewhere.

I don't know if construction has halted or not. It would not be over additional floors. Delays with the condo units results in a letter saying, "sorry for the delay but, there's nothing you can do about it". They certainly can't pull the same stunt with their expected office tenants.

Excavation for the block square 5 storey ug parking has begun, but will take A WHILE. We won't see anything above grade for 1.5yrs or so.
For reference

Because Brookfield place is steel frame and has hit ground level, I predict just one year and a bit till it tops out.

By me

Looks like One Bloor is only a couple of floors from the halfway point

Walked by One Bloor yesterday, what a stunner! Yorkville is finally starting to be an interesting place to hang and feels quite urban...in 3-5 years Toronto will officially be big daddy badass!

Maybe it's just because we've had some narrow towers going up recently but One Bloor looks like it has a huge floorplate. Like FCP huge. Probably not that big in reality though. Not many towers would look stumpy if cut off at its current height but this one would.

One Bloor East has a floorplate of just under 10,000sf per floor

First Canadian Place is about 32,000. (sf)

That should put things in perspective.

Massey Tower is something similar to One Bloor East.

Aura floorplates are bigger (top portion are about 12,000sf). YC Condos is more like 8,000sf

So I guess it just is the context then.

The Stantec Tower in Edmonton is currently shoring and excavating.

Might have to move it over to this list, it's 224 meters - and will kick BA2 off from the bottom.

I wouldn't have expected that. I've always loved FCP for its svelteness. 180 x 180 sounds corpulent. The old Trade towers were 208², comparatively not much more, but they looked a bit fatter, proportionally, than FCP. Chicago's AON is only 185², but looks much bulkier than FCP. I've always attributed that to AON's vertical lines versus FCP's more-becoming horizontal window design.
