Last week I was in Kingston and saw Princess Towers. It’s right up there with Clockzilla in my book. I drove past that part of Toronto all the time. It’s all godawful.

We in Toronto have plenty of ugly shopping plazas. Lawrence Sqaure is one that springs to mind. Its main tenant used to be Zellers and it’s right by Yorkdale so in my opinion it’s screwed.

The inside looks like it sprung out of the 80s.

The food court is just sad.

I used to teach in this fugly building (much better, actually pretty cool on the inside, but fugly on the outside)

huffpuff

I also used to teach in this fugly building. Known as the Hall Building, most refer to it as the Hell Building. Many of those windows are not actually windows (covered with slats)...there is almost no natural light in this behemoth of a building that would be a death trap in the event of a serious fire. Also the site of Canada's most famous riot, and the massacre of four engineering professors.

wookie'srectum

see how it fits into the neighborhood:

clunckordia

you can see the slats covering some of the "windows"

Hmm what to cook OH I KNOW. Let’s slap some onions onto some fish and dump a gravy/shut mixture on top of it.

Not quite as bad as Smartcentres but that's not saying much.

If you keep driving down Dundas for another hour you can find a new gem in Oakville. Seems to be a private owner, but they've certainly made a splash. With the fake wall and parapets it looks like the facade of a cheap western movie set piece.

I just went to that plaza a couple weeks ago! The Fortinos is impossible to navigate and everything looks godawful architecturally speaking.

There’s a Riocan in Burloak (by the shitty chain hotels) that’s just pure big box dreck.

But let’s not forget the fine dining.

Nothing cheapens a location like a Dollarama.

Ah yes, the world's shittiest strip mall with a streetview of the parking lot.

I like how it proudly advertises that it still has heart shaped tubs. WTF is a steam cabinet?!? A sauna? Niiice!!

The Calgary Tower has really lost its lustre as of late. It looks like an oversized tootsie pop.

Another problematic tower would be the Harbour Center in Vancouver. The tower just shouldn’t be there.

Speaking of Vancouver, the HSBC Tower is plain awful. The odd dome at the top looks clunky and odd and the colours don’t quite match up.
