Maybe everyone else has seen these renders of SkyHouse South, but I hadn't, so here.

Looks like the lighting scheme will be slightly different from SkyHouse Midtown if this is very accurate. Also some decent crown details.

There's some more on the website and some interiors and other renders of the other SkyHouse Midtown.

All courtesy of their lovely website: http://skyhousesouth.com/luxury-atlanta-apartments/

The beautiful people are having a nice time hanging out. I like that they put the Loll chairs in the renderings.

ETA: "Midtown South". Was that their idea?

Midtown South is so stupid. That's central Midtown, if anything. I hate marketing majors.

This reminds of when the Best Buy at Edgewood Retail District was referred to as the Midtown branch on bestbuy.com. Classic.

Six more parcels needed to build Falcons stadium on south site (Creative Loafing)

Whoever owns that land is going to ask for the moon. More fuss (and money) over a tiny lot

I noticed today that something is going on next to Piedmont and 10th restaurant at the back entrance of Blake's. Any idea what?

On Clifton Road, they started demolition for the 2nd phase of Emory Point yesterday. About half of the old Emory Inn is destroyed. They are still digging the underground parking garage for the new 10 story hospital tower.

Yes, this will be the most spastically "urban" development built in the Midtown in decades in that is has 100% lot coverage, a zero foot side and front setback, access from a legacy alley, and a very narrow curb cut on Piedmont Avenue.

I know nothing about urban planning or design but I think these are a nice use of a couple of acres. The parking is underground, which I wish was the rule all over the city.

Oh, these rock arjay57! Timeless design, in my opinion. I want one.

And 975 Piedmont would work too!

I like the fact that they both have big windows. I need lots of light these days!

Agreed. It won't add much density, but definitely adds to an urban vibe.

We're on a roll, Tim! It's actually getting hard to keep up with all of the infill going on all over town.

I'm feeling very bullish on Atlanta right now. There is a TON of infill development going on, and the general mood of the city feels quite positive compared to just a few years ago, when development was stalled and (at least the perception of) crime seemed to be spiking in intown neighborhoods.

Next year feels like it's going to be enormous for the city. Between the streetcar, Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market, Civil Rights museum, College Football Hall of Fame, and Buckhead Atlanta, along with countless other infill projects all coming online, 2014 feels like it's going to be a blockbuster year for the city.

Another thing I've noticed in just the past year or so...and it's just a subjective observation...the population of the city seems to be much more diverse recently. When I go out to eat, shop, etc, whereas in the past the population was pretty exclusively black and white, I notice many more young 20 and 30 something Hispanics and Asians in town.

And maybe the right person is finally at the helm at MARTA. Hopefully we can see some growth in the system, rather than the retrenchment of the past decade.

It feels pretty good to be living in Atlanta these days.
