On a side note, for this AUS-CVG flight, only 13 passengers on board is...not great.

The E175 focus city continues, but AA has to be hemorrhaging money on these thin, nonstop routes to keep AUS market share.

https://austin.culturemap.com/news/t...a-ana-bozeman/

By John Egan

American adding 2 more dots

"The new flights are from Austin to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California, and Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Bozeman, Montana. John Wayne Airport is the closest airport to Disneyland, while the Bozeman airport is about 90 miles from the north and west entrances of Yellowstone National Park."

Bozeman is fun. John Wayne is just OC. Its where SWA used to fly into LA.

I figured it would be either Montréal or Vancouver. I guess either Montréal is next but on Air Canada or West Jet.

Sweet! Best city on the continent. The best way to visit there is still via Amtrak though.

They really should have rebranded the Max 8.

Maybe, I think it’s better to keep the same brand so people are aware of what they are flying on since some people will refuse to fly on a MAX. Before turning to a rebrand Boeing needs to stop with the cost cutting and rushing that caused the MCAS issues. I would hope that’s why they are taking their time with the 777X and NMA.

My Canadian friend got all excited when I sent him the link. That’s his hometown.
He said he’d book a flight ASAP before they canceled the route.

Here's a nice February wrap up newsletter from the airport, it also has a quick rundown of incoming service additions. https://mailchi.mp/9fa133bb5f9a/stay...0?e=75d6273255

I took the Hawaiian Air flight to/from Honolulu last week and it was 80% full both ways. Food sucked but otherwise a great flight and I hope it continues. Hard to beat $500 RT to Hawaii nonstop from the ATX!

Quite a shame about the food, what was wrong with it? Glad to see the flight doing well, hopefully when Hawaiian received the Dreamliner aircraft they’ll send one to Austin! $500 to get beautiful Hawaiian scenery and weather, yes please!

I wonder how many of these routes will get the boot when the Frontier/Sprit merger is complete.

I don't know if any of you follow the ElonJet twitter account, but it is very interesting... he obviously does live here in Austin, and is mostly jetting back and forth between brownsville. But a couple of times a month he flies to the west coast. And he has a pretty fast plane; trips to the west coast for him are under 3 hrs, even to the Bay Area. And then in January he flew from Austin to Maui... 6 hrs 17 mins... no stops. By comparison Hawaii Air nonstop from Austin is about 8 hrs 30 mins. And of course with any stops, you are looking at 10+ hrs.
