I never realized LA actually was a city, I thought it was just a contiguous sea of urban sprawl. Glad to see that there is actually some density. Its still mostly urban sprawl if you ask me though.

It really really is a real city of 4 million, 13 million urban area. You should check it out one day....

These are phenomenal shots, that need to be bumped...

LA is both density and urban sprawl. surprisingly, it's possible to have both

wow, phenomenal aerial tour Echo! (echo, echo echo.....)

Someone asked why so much "cussing"? Probably because they feel passionate (which is the same reason most people swear) about the city and it's skyline, and I couldn't agree more. I think LA has a fuckin' excellent skyline now! I particularly like how you showed not only the skyline and buildings but also various neighbourhoods and houses.

Yeah, this looks like Atlanta on steroids... except they're some of the densest census tracts in the country.

Damn, LA is one huge agglomeration of urban mass; you really need a thread like this to take it all in. Truly stunning. Nicely annotated too; too bad you got banned. You were definitely one of my favorite SSPersons.

Very very nice pics. I enjoyed visiting LA the last time I was there and would love to go back. BTW, where is Holmby Hills? I know where Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, etc. all are but not Holmby. Hilo Helicopter tours

Holmby is nestled in between Bel-Air to the north, Beverly to the east, and Westwood to the west.

it was rated the number one best helicopter tour of LA Area. Many celebrities has taken the tour. I remember one time that I was at the airport one day after school and Oprah was taking a tour of all LA.
