As i allready wrote Constanta was founded 2600 years ago by greek colonists. After the fall of the Roman Empire Constanta declines and becomes a small village, so we can say that here it was no medieval era. The region of Dobrogea enters under turkis occupation. The russian - turks war almost erradicated Constanta. By the middle of 1800 there were almost 200 people living in the city. Then Sultan Abdul Medgid sells the whole city and many large land plots and also the smal harbour to the british company Danube & Black Sea Railway and Kustendje Harbour Ltd. The company build the modern port and also the city from scratch. They nimplemented the grid street network, erected over 200 new buildings, many still standing nowadays. After Dobrogea region is taken over by Romania the number of american and british companies increased. Anghel Saligny takes over the harbour project and finishes the Port of Constanta (nowadays the historical harbour). The grid network of the new developments was used by the new romanian administration and it's still in use nowadays. The american companies influenced the local development. This is why here in Constanta are almost 10 oriental style buidings, mainly mosques aned traditional romanian buildings are very rare. Instead the old city's architecture is dominated by art deco, modernism, streamline-art deco and neoclassical architecture. There are also few neobroque buildings.
So now i'll show you some of those buildings.
