^^^I don't think your calculations are correct.

- They are currently on a one floor per 5 year trajectory.
- The new proposal is 27 floors.
- not accounting for poor weather and supply chain disruptions
- 5 x 27 = 135
- opening date should be estimated for fall 2159

This has to be a tax write-off scenario at this point. That's the only way it makes sense in my head that Northland is willing to burn mountains of cash with this project.

Not sure, but I do know steel and concrete is gluten and allergen free, so at least that.

They're just pushing it off to the edge of the slab and letting it run down the edge of the foundation. It looks like it might be oil and if that's the case, that's fucked up that they're just pushing it into the ground like that.
Ah, bureaucracy.

I just spoke to a guy at Water & Waste, responding to my call to 311 as I tried to prod the system into looking in to this incident.

Nice guy, asking for some details, as all he had was 'chemical spill at construction site on Carlton...'. He asked when this was and I had him wait while I scrolled back to find this post.

"I'm sorry, did you say June 14?!?" Starts to apologize, says stuff normally hits their desk quickly so can't honestly explain how it got lost. He did ask for a copy of the photo and that he would keep me informed as they look into it with the parties involved.

Maybe you'll get an answer before Christmas! Very interested in hearing what they have to say.

Uh-oh. Way to go Grump. If they get levied a $500 fine from this it could throw the whole project finances out of whack!

Ya there's been nothing going on. Once in a while there may be a vehicle parked near the site trailers. There was said to be work needed underground/in the parkade. But overall nothing going on.

Was there a timeline Northland had to follow as a condition of the sale? We'll get this hotel by 2050 at this rate.

Oh nice. Looks like they're using the north tower location for the new combined tower. Kind of wish they used the south tower to spread out the skyline pop a bit.

Wonder if the south end will retain a pad for a potential future phase, ie the original 2 tower scheme

Its a nice picture. Hopefully they actually build it. The Sandman is almost done now. Maybe they need to finish that first.

By "resumed work" they simply could mean the project has been re-activated and is undergoing this re-design phase. Pretty broad.

It was work to put out that "Report to the Community".

That is a lot to accomplish in one year...the report.
