Great snaps. It occurred to me that, even though many of us have been watching Austin skyscrapers for a while now, this particular moment may be one of the most transformational in the city's history, at least in terms of number of skyscrapers being built at the same time, and sheer size of each.

We are in Austin's version of what the 80s were for Houston and Dallas.

In the grand scheme of things, we are in one of the hugest periods of resource allocation / urbanization in the history of the world. (Not just Austin, but globally.) Once New Urbanist movement hit, things really took off and never looked back. They'll have whole chapters in history books talking about what Gen X and Millennials have done; reinvesting in our cities.

Looks like this one has about one floor left before it reaches the pool-level. Red line shows current floor being worked on.

I really don't mind the "ugly wall" on the fish tank tower. It's definitely a unique building. Sure, it's a blank wall, but I dare you to find a more interesting one in Austin. I think those two buildings are going to compliment each other nicely.

It is unique. I would even go so far as to say it's grown on me a bit. I can't stand the decision for such a huge parking garage under a tiny tower, but I can't say that they didn't do a quality job with that approach - they really did. However, I'm still glad the ugly wall will be covered. The other three sides of the "fish tank tower" () are much more interesting.

I'm personally trying to see how it resembles a fish tank.

I think fishtank is a better moniker than the molar.

Totally agree with Fish Tank Building. It long ago lost its molar-ness.

I mean, the glass part itself totally still looks like a molar. The whole building looks like a fish tank on a stand. Haha...

How do we get the building to projection map fish on the glass at night?
