All made by Samsung, I assume?

One thing I appreciate about all this is the "angularity" or simply angle, of it. At first, I was sorry to see the rotunda go, and the open space next to it filled up, but now, I find the prospect of the glassy Apple Store
and the green wall all amplified by the angle at which the building is 'sheared' if you will. Also, if you look at the second-to-last picture in mcminsen's 4:i0 am series, you can see how looking SE, the angular roof of Vancouver Centre 2 echoes an angle and sort of ties into it from a distance. My one regret here is that the Four Seasons couldn't have been redone in a snazzier way, but, that of course, is $$, (and another topic.)

Agreed that the angle addresses that prominent corner well.

If this were being built in a suburb:

“This is the most stunning retail space in Greater Vancouver and really shows how downtown Van is a dying, decrepit POS”

Yes the revised angle really speaks to both Georgia's prominence and the Art Gallery Square across the street much better than the previous retail pavilion or the leaky old igloo.

The steps have integrated seating too so there should be a good buzz of activity on the corner facing the plaza.

You said it, not me. This is an ugly piece of work anywhere it is built.

BTW, Pacific Centre Mall built in the 1970s is still the best thing to happen to downtown Vancouver's retail scene. It is still relevant even today.

Looks like the hoarding is coming down and a temporay fence being installed.
Not sure what the glass might be - either a replacement or maybe an awning over the entrance doorway?

Notice sent around the office today:

HUGE panel of glass to go in.
Tricky looking installation to get it under the overhang.

A couple of quick shots from the bus...

So are they replacing glass panels on the front? They are still there so maybe they have to do more than one.

By me today.

They must have damaged a pane during construction.
(or maybe as Diego mentioned - maybe they forgot to drill a hole to power the Apple logo )

it is my understanding from another project in town that there are some supply chain issues on this architectural glass which is causing delays. This should be a nice addition to the street front when it's done.

As it seems there has been ZERO progress on the CF hotel project, is there any updates on when this will be done or is the city log jamming this one.
