It’s quite hilarious when Saint Johners get bent out of shape when someone dares to abbreviate
but that’s a bit much, small fishing village? Saint John’s the oldest Canadian city and was the largest city in NB for most of the country’s history. Guess some people can’t even take 5 seconds and google the Wikipedia page.
My dad said one time he was on Leno or Carson once claimed he forgot where he was from in Canada when asked, and he always held it against him.

I think he was a great actor, known for quite a variety of roles. He wasn’t the best Hawkeye Pierce, imo, (who was funnily enough from the small fictional fishing village, Crabapple Cove, Maine) but he also had a much better movie career than Alan Alda did.
The last movie I saw him in was Ad Astra, and though his part was brief, he was great in it… amazing film, btw.
