This is the kind of building that is ideal for conversion to housing. The building has a very small footprint, a lot of windows, and is a lower class office rating.

Interesting that a new For Sale sign has gone up on the surface parking lot on the SE corner of York and Colborne directly east of the Mens Mission building. There may have been a For sale sign there before, not sure, but it appears to be for sale now. Location is terrible with the CN tracks beside it and the safe injection site across the street and Men's Mission building. Can't imagine the price will be very high for whoever decides to buy it. Don't forget that the London Free Press building is currently being demolished across the street with the Landlord likely hoping to turn it into surface parking.

LFP article on sale of former bank and Rexall store building to Maas Group. They plan to convert the upper floors into apartments and lease the first two floors as commercial/retail.

14 two bedroom units and 1 one bedroom.

If the "Landlord" was actually a real developer he could have also done this renovation but we know that isn't the business model.

Any conversion is good conversion but if they receive money from the city, a certain percentage should be affordable. It will get rid of the blight at that key intersection.

The 20-30 grand per unit the mayor talked about last week would probably happily be forgotten about by the developed to NOT have to make anything "affordable". That corner will probably command a premium that will make up that 300k in pretty short order.

Good to see. I imagine that it won’t take many of these to make a noticeable difference.

Looks like York Development has plans for a couple of towers at the former London Mall on Oxford/Wonderland.

Looks like a good use of otherwise empty parking spaces. I was at that intersection a couple days ago and looked at that big ugly retaining wall on the south side of Nash and wondered what would ever fill those spaces in.

Seriously. Hopefully they move away from Zedd. Their towers are mostly awful!

Wowsers. Way better than the Drewlo Dreck that saturates unWonderland Road.

I don't think Zedd is great, but compared to decades of Drewlo, Tricar, and the rest of the gang that has built London, Zedd is a breath of fresh air. At least with them we are moving away from the grey, bland buildings that are scattered across the city. But yeah, Matter's buildings are definitely better and hope we see some of their designs implemented in the future.

I agree, these are nice renderings of a building that no developer in London Ontario can afford to build.

Can't imagine what the city wants with an old school out there, but maybe it was part of a deal to get a new school built elsewhere?

Dancor wants to build an industrial park off Highbury south of Wilton Grove. Land currently zoning Agri and outside of London's urban growth boundary. City staff claim London already has enough industrial land. WTF? We recently have heard statements that London doesn't have enough large parcels of land to attract big industrial companies.

Of note is a proposal for a 6s 72 unit residential affordable housing building at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish on Fallons Lane in northeast London just north of Huron St.
