Quoting the full pic because I THINK I finally noticed in advance when I'm starting a new page... let's see if I'm right, for once, FFS lol

My understanding (and I suspect it's the same for many Canadians?) of what elevation B.C. communities are at is non-existent. So you could post pics of snow in mountains year-round and it wouldn't strike me as unsual. Obviously I know it's not going to be in Vancouver or Victoria, etc. But... you could almost fool me with a pic of some ski town covered in snow in July and say it's Surrey lol

I still, even with my SSP-gained insight, expect there are parts of B.C. with snow year-round?

I mean, there will be mountain peaks that have snow year round (Mt Robson comes to mind). but populated areas? Nah.

A neighbour I haven't met yet knows my name. Was leaning out my window chatting with the roofer (forget his name) and his wife, Gail, across the street. And some guy came out of the orange one and said, "HEY RYAN! How are ya man?" That one is a high-turnover rental, genuinely don't remember ever meeting him.

It's fun, though. I love chatting from the windows. You see the kids doing it in normal neighbourhoods, but in mine the adults do too lol

Anyhow, the atmosphere is heavy AF. You can just FEEL the rain coming. It's definitely not going to miss us.

With how whacked the weather is these days a category 3 hurricane making landfall in Greenland doesn't seem too far-fetched.

Now I must go check the filter on my AC unit for next week's impending heat wave of doom.

It's wet today and just 14.8 on Bedford Basin. The wet weather didn't deter these folks from a sailing event held by the club next door:

Here's six weeks difference in the snow levels on two of Vancouver's local ski hills.

The first one I'd expect to be snowless. You can see the ocean there, not so high. The second one has no context to the ignorant like me who've no idea where it is. So that one I would believe you if you said it had snow year-round.

Drenching rain here in Moncton this afternoon.

It's great for my new hedge I got planted last week, but, bad for the Metro Moncton Highland Games which are on this weekend. The heavy events were today. I would have gone, but, I got wet enough just going to Costco earlier today. Sadly, it was a pass for me,

Cypress (first one) is on the left of the below map, and Seymour is on the right. IN the middle is Grouse Mountain. All are in the greater Vancouver area.

Yes even though places like Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna are a much higher elevation, it always is fun and exciting when we see snow in June in those areas. There is a population year round at the resort so im sure they had a fun morning in the roughly 10cm of snow.

Nice. And, for what it's worth, in places just like Cypress (which is as high as we get, probably more), I've been on hikes with Joanne in LATE JULY where the trees get especially thick and we were shocked to discover snow in the ground deep in the tangle. I haven't yet seen it in August, but... I think it's possible. The snow we found in July had the texture of a slurpee/slushie, and was maybe 2 inches thick, mostly around the tree trunks in the deepest shadows/dips in the landscape.

Nothing but sunshine and blue skies today. Although if you look closely you can see one little white spot.. the moon!

I guess your reputation just precedes you! Sort of like my cat, who everyone in the neighbourhood - even people I've never seen before - seems to know and call him by name. He's a lot more popular than I.

Anyway, weird mix of sun, cloud, and a bit of rain here today. Heavy clouds rolling in earlier - it was sunny facing the other way:

Places in Mauricie in QC are getting 2c and frost tonight, and then 35-36 two days from now.

Yes, quite the mixed bag depending on where you were and when.
Cloudy to the north, sunny to the south. Pretty nice late afternoon and evening.

Saturday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 16 C, the low was 11 C.

New hedge? I'm curious. What did you plant?

Saturday's rain is long gone. It was kind of weird last evening as it started getting lighter the later it got due to the sky clearing. The sun set at 9.02.

Today is forecast to be 22 under sunny skies. Seasonably warm.

Going to be interesting to watch the heat in the East over the next 5 or so days!

Here in Japan the summer humidity has set in. Last week was our first low above 20, and now we wont see a low below 20 until September.... God I hate it....

If you need AC or heat to sleep at night, it isn't comfortable weather IMO!

Give me a nice windows open with a refreshing breeze during the night! You never get that here in the summer. It's always humid, sticky and thick as soup.
