The link to the inside just shows the same image. Having been inside many times during my days at nearby ACAD I can tell you that it was everything you’d expect from Dawn of the Dead. Everywhere you tried to walk there were old people crawling along and blocking the aisles. It still had an old photo studio upstairs and was rumoured to be haunted by an old custodian. The interior hadn’t changed much since the 70’s /80’s.

Here’s what I meant to link.

The last time I was in a Sears was one in Orlando FL (forgot my tie and had to do a last minute dash to get one) and it sounds exactly like how you have described.

The one in Barrie is truly an awful sight, they left the sign up and the building itself isn’t in great shape. It’s right down the street from one of the most hideous malls I have ever seen, complete with an Applebee’s (which I just ate at, shitty food) in the parking lot .

The aforementioned Barrie Mall.

The insides just as bad as well, there’s a large Canadian Tire store next door and a Crapplebees in the parking lot making it look like a strip mall, it’s anchor tennant is Winners (a very bad sign), but it’s largest business is a bowling alley.

What a mess!

And here’s where the name came from!

They should put a Montana’s in the lobby of The Montana.

Mandarins HQ really jumps out at you when your on the highway, and not in a good way.

At least you can tell that it’s the Headquarters of a Chinese Buffet place.

Yes the Montana is about as inspired and original as Montana's CrackHouse.

They should design the lobby of the Montana to look like a Montana’s. Or better yet, make the lobby a functioning Montana’s restaurant with elevators.

Barrie should be known for having 3 malls (Bayfield Mall, Kozlov Centre and Georgian Mall) located on the same 1.5 km stretch of road (Bayfield Street).

Kozlov Centre is an excellent example of a mall that had sky-high aspirations when it was built (read granite features, skylights and fountains) but is now a classic 'dead mall'. If you want to feel like you're in 1990, check it out!

I have been to Kozlov before, it is very 90s-ish.

I drive Bayfield every time I go to the cottage. I had no idea that place was called Kozlov Centre. And I had no idea inside looked like that. What I do know is that the signage outside is garish. I thought signage on some places like Markham Rd. in Scarboro were bad but this place really takes the cake.

Georgian Mall is a pretty decent mall. And the power centre across the road ain't too bad as far as power centres go.

But Bayfield is one the tackiest commercial strips I've ever driven. Well from the 400 up to Georgian Mall. Pretty much equal with Queen St. in Brampton.

Speaking of Montana’s, has anyone else seen the commercials for this wretched thing?

Only at Montana’s can you get a microwaved chicken sandwich with Cheetos on it! Doesn’t it just make you want to rush down to your nearest Montana’s? .

I actually got a coupon for Montanas the other day so my dad is bringing me there for my birthday this weekend. Considering the relationship I have with him, Montana's is an incredibly appropriate place to go. (We usually go to Boston Pizza, but sadly they discontinued my favourite blue cheese burger years ago).

I might get one of those and report back to you guys, I have all three days of the weekend off so if I get the shits, it won't interfere with work! And yes, when I saw the advertisement for that on the flyer I ridiculed the hell out of it.

When I go to a new Asian restaurant, I bring a bottle of this stuff (I don't know why it's sold at Cabelas??) and take a drink from it to show them I can take anything they throw at me. It usually works! I'll be fine.

By drink I mean sip. I'm not that insane.
