I think it's fair to say that everyone intuitively knows this is preamble to a federal Paxton indictment.

I hope Nate doesn't get to plead out. If he's as corrupt as I think he is, he's due a good bit of jail time, too.

It just takes a long time to make sure all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. They don't want to bring charges until they've overturned every possible stone. i.e. They want to be near 100% certain that they'll get a guilty verdict.

I find it amusing that all the headlines have stopped referring to him as a "developer" and now just call him an "investor".

Man, I was telling my wife the same thing from the mug shot. I mean, I'm not convinced they don't photoshop mug shots to make things seem worse, but still.

I said the same thing on an Instagram post. I'm older than him by 3 years and he looks significantly older than me.

Great news

Texas Supreme Court snubs World Class appeal, moving prime downtown Austin sites closer to $172M sales
Quote:
The Supreme Court appeal was one of the final options open to World Class to prevent sales of two prime downtown sites: a lot at 99 Trinity St., just south of the Austin Convention Center, and three parcels surrounding The Austonian skyscraper at the intersection of Third Street and Congress Avenue.

If they finally pry 99 Trinity from WCC more like crappy ass capital, I can foresee something pretty significant in that location.

It seems that World Class still in possession of the IHOP property at 707 E. Cesar Chavez. The Travis CAD website shows "WC 707 CESAR CHAVEZ LLC" as the owner (which was linked to World Class). Surprised no one brought this up.

https://www.statesman.com/story/busi...e/10372300007/

Will be interested to see what ultimately comes of that parking lot and IHOP. Can't imagine it'll remain in its current form as the Waterline and other high rises in the area near completion.

I believe WCC still owns 56 East with the one-story offices too. An office tower was proposed for that site several years ago, but of course it never happened.
