A $100-million shopping-condo project also hangs in the balance as central developments in the city's stadium drama play out this week.

Developer Darko Vranich has been quietly assembling entire blocks of downtown property for the last decade, drawing up plans for a complex of four buildings roughly along George Street designed to link Jackson Square with Hess Village.
Quote:
The Vrancor project would be on land roughly bounded by Bay, Caroline, Main and King streets, including the site of the former federal building on Main at Caroline.

Bullshit. He's just jumping on the bandwagon to use an excuse for sitting on the Federal building for so many years and ripping down HMP.

Anyone hear anything about this or is it just a rumour.
Categorically untrue. I guarantee it.

speaking of poutine, I would enjoy a Frite Alors! franchise somewhere downtown....

Anyone hear any rumours of the plans for the Denningers-owned King/Wellington corner?

They're digging a hole at the corner of Haymarket & Hughson (Behind the GO Station). Anyone have any idea what it is?

Anyone know if there are any plans or rumors for any potential tenants for the top portion of 100King W?

Hmmm interesting. A lot of their admin and their continuing ed is housed out of there. I wonder where they'd move that too, Innovation Park perhaps?

No worries the lease was renewed for ten years.

Nothing. They ripped down a beautiful 100 year old theatre because they discovered that the roof had caved in years ago and it was found "structurally unsound". At the time of course the developer said he had grandoise plans of building a condo there. Exactly one year later... still a pile of bricks.

Very, but not unexpected. Just business as usual in the Hammer.

Nah, I took the liberty of capturing it myself.

That was a fun place.

Matt has blessed us with an inside look at many of our abandoned buildings over the years. Do a search for the Lister Block pre-renovations, Connaught, and so on and you'll find his photos. Also, welcome to the board!
