I would certainly presume that a high rise structure next door on Harper Street might spur development of this land too.
And there's a good sized piece of land directly across the street between the Park House and the Running Room - I wonder if that could also be developed? Something with ground floor commercial like a good coffee shop/bistro right between the two hotels!

They have started work on foundation of the third of nine six storey apartment buildings to be built on Millennium Boulevard:

You can see BMHS, and the new anglophone middle school (under construction) in the middle background. They had better create a lighted pathway through the park as a connector. To do otherwise would be damned near criminal.

The agenda for tomorrow's Moncton City Council session has been posted.
Under planning matters: "7.1 rezoning at Harper Street and Main Street."

And under by-laws: By-Law in Amendment of the City of Moncton Zoning By-Law, being By-Law Z-222.16 – Harper & Main Street – Second and Third Reading (subject to approval of item 7.1)

From what I see, 222.16 pertains to Downtown Zones..

This is big news as it means something is up with the lot next to Staples. Hopefully it’s a good size.

I wonder why rezoning is necessary? Residential vs commercial? Height?

Valmond’s first two proposals for Harper Street were for commercial office and then hotel. I think ICON is going for a residential tower.

Should be some good information coming out of the meeting and, hopefully, a render.

Will any details about this project be released at today's council meeting? It's on the agenda for rezoning.

It'd be nice to have one of them set up for St, Bernard's Square. Haven't heard anything on that project for quite a while. Will it start this year I wonder?

Promising nonetheless!

I also noticed there is no equipment on site. Not that it wasn't there earlier today - but it certainly isn't there any longer. Just a tease I suppose

A new mixed-use with a 30-story tower proposed for Harper Street and Main Street, (vacant lot next to Staples).
