I mean, people can see the exact quote, "not every street and inch of the BeltLine needs to have retail or some public use. In fact, that would be BAD, because you'd be highly over retailed and have a bunch of dead storefronts whose costs have then been passed onto homeowners, renters, other businesses, etc."

Anyway, I'm not sure why everything on here devolves so much. A simple wording difference between public use, active use, and retail use, and people jump on each other. Be kind.

Excuse my ignorance but is Castleberry Park part of the Gulch redevelopment?

No, but it's practically across the street. It's part of the Hard Rock Hotel project.

Have they paused construction of the 14th & Spring residential portion? Framework for a new floor hasn't started in at least two weeks.

Now, get rid of those ugly parcels to the north on the west side of Spring. Does anyone know if anything is planned there????

I think Selig owns a lot but not all of the land there, so they're still in the planning phase for it.

I just happened to have watched it a couple of hours ago. When they brought up Atlanta I thought it was going to be about the massive 3 alarm fire last year.

Here is street level view (Peachtree) this morning and the Parking Deck from Linden/Spring. Not a bad looking Parking deck with nice sidewalks and good pedestrian presence.

That bottom part is so incredibly cold. I like the parking deck but that wall of glass with tiny doors just doesn't work for me.

Keep in mind this is the side on Linden St that won't see much foot traffic since there is nothing but the Connector on the other side of Spring. The front is less than ½ "window" hight. Also I bet the doors are mainly for emergency exit (there is really nothing for pedestrians to access). Here is the front on W. Peachtree.

Just to add the sidewalks were almost impassable and in terrible shape, especially behind on Spring St. But how they are wide and new.

^^Awesome aerial midtown shots! Now we just need something on the former Eviva site, and near the Hadley/church but on the vacant lot fronting Peachtree and 4th.

That parking deck is absolutely horrendous in every aspect. The only silver lining is that now several surface parking lots in the area can be developed since parking is consolidated in this concrete behemoth.

Valid points. Thank you.
