Additionally, what the heck is that architecture? I think it's what you get because so many people in this city are classical architecture fetishists. That is, it's the result of trying to be modern and classic at the same time. Basically the Las Vegas version of french neo-classical style.

I guess then it's a good thing you aren't on City Council or the Planning Commission.

I agree, though, that design is garish as hell. All it needs is a street level Dollarama.

Disagree on the Cook residence, though I admittedly do have a soft spot for homes with a bit of Tudor charm.

But fully agree with labelling that Angus Blvd home a turd. It looks decrepit and doesn't really have any unique architectural qualities that deserve any sort of special status. All the "preservation" will serve to do is to preserve it in its current condition.

I believe it's residential and I think they're starting off with condos.

Temporary parking lot proposed for Capital Pointe lot on hold until 2021.
The final decision on the fate of the lot will not be heard until sometime in 2021 due to a motion presented during the Regina planning commission

I doubt that venture pays off in the near term. Right now there's plenty of available parking in the downtown core. The parkades I see are only half full at best.

I really wish we could get rid of this guy. We need someone who has more original thinking than "any development is good development" or at least someone who will enforce and build on our community plans.

Pretty sure it has more to do with that site owing the city money.

Anyone know the progress update on the remainder of the Victoria Avenue Beautification project? I would love them to do the same thing for 11th Avenue from Albert Street to Broad next year. Would love new trees planted and a lot of the brick and sidewalks updated or replaced.

Also would love Hamilton Street from Victoria Avenue to Sask Drive to be updated/invested in.

If the city committed to doing stretches of the downtown each year, I feel a lot could be accomplished especially in areas that haven’t received any investment for a very long time (sidewalks, curbs, crosswalks, trees, benches).
