They did add the little thing at city hall that pokes over 2nd street. Anyways I think I like this building more than 6x. It’s slimmer and looks more cohesive instead Of a Frankenstein building. Also, what’s the plan for the lot north of Republic Square? Surely it won’t last long in its current state.

I love it too! Especially that it includes 6xGuad, The Republic, Indeed, The Google Sail, and Hanover Republic Square towers. What an impressive collection of buildings that are really very close together. The cluster around the square is amazing. The post office site tower has got to be very impressive! That site is the prime site in Austin and must be a gem.

Not to be nitpicky here...but, if we really wanted to be accurate, The W is 478' tall to T.O.P.

It was just proposed 2 months ago so there's no time frame as of yet (I believe)

The site plan was posted today to the AULCC page. The elevations show it as 770 feet 6 inches, but it drops down maybe another foot below the zero line at grade. I don't have a way of measuring that distance since there's no other height to compare it to, so unless someone has a way of measuring it with a PDF reader, we'll just have to go with this height. I know there's a way to do it, and I've tried, but I wasn't having any luck with it.

One thing, though, in the project details box, it lists the height as 792 feet 6 inches. I'm not sure what the reason for that is. It's possible this really is 772 feet with that drop below the zero line, and the 792 foot number was a typo.

The west elevation looks like it's about 3' below grade. Even if it is 2.5' that makes for 773'. But I just hope it gets built and am glad that it's over 700'.

This is a New York level tower. Only around 75' thick. Great parking ratio (for Austin) as well.

Floors 2-11M Parking
Floors 12-17 Office
Floors 18-19 Amenity
Floors 20-43 Residential
Floor 44 Mechanical
Floors 45-59 Residential
Floors 60-62 Roof

I still have a little bit of hope in this project when compared to most other proposals.

It's mostly residential - hospitality and speculative office is dead.
A bank with naming rights is taking the office space.
BBVA is probably providing at least some financing.
The developer and general contractor is Ryan Companies, and they seem to have the resources to complete projects that they announce.
