You have dipsticks proposing to ruin a good street with a 2nd level ped level over LaSalle street meanwhile a half-built ready-made pedestrian retail complex above Rush/Wabash continues on being ignored.

Do you mean where the H Mart is now? I'm not sure it was an Office Depot or just a generic office supplies store. Either way, the H Mart there now is a dramatic improvement. Or are you referring to a different building?

Sooo no one's touched the Bentham in a month. Should it really take this long to clear up a permit issue?

Depends on what is holding up their permit and how far along they were in the permit review process when they went ahead and started working on the next phase of work.

We have a project right now for a retail white box within an existing space providing just new mechanical a large mezzanine floor structure, elevator and stairs where the permit has been held up for nearly 4 months now, not due to any issues with the design or drawings, but in trying to satisfy the procedural requirements of the planning department. Each time we have submitted the documents required to fulfill their comments, there have been more comments and requests for documents, most of which should h

^ I was just hearing rumblings about that project from an HVAC supplier in my office yesterday. I believe it's called The Study Hotel.

The Study Hotels are a little chain that concentrate on locations close to University campuses. I've stayed at their locations at Yale and Penn. Their lobbies are themes in a sort of "hip library" way, the rooms are more or less cookie cutter mid-range hotel quality. So, a nice addition.

BTW - does a 12-13 story property qualify for the Highrise thread, and shouldn't this be in the Hyde Park board in any case?

So, is this still accurate?

High-rise + 100 meters
Skyscraper + 150 meters
Supertall + 300 meters
Megatall + 600 meters (for our Asian brethren )

100 meters is probably more like the upper end of what’s considered a Highrise. My response was only really for the context of what qualifies to post in the Highrise thread though. Not sure if it’s a standard, SSP, or Chicago threads designation but 12+ qualifies

Did a comparison from 2006 to early 2019 of Chicagos growth as seen via aerials. Aimed for the same angle. Posted it in the current discussions but figured its relevant here. Due to size (so it doesn't get deleted lol)... see button below.

So much infill, especially in the South Loop and I presume Greektown from 2006 to 2012.

Have we figured out if 717 S. Clark is getting those awkward tiny balconies on the top floors yet?
