Both transborder and intl up 360 departing pax per day.
Seems about right for the WS additions etc...
Filling those planes with ultra cheap fares apparently.
Transat’s exit next summer should help with yields.
And if AC maintains the 2 daily 789s, KL’s daily 333 and BA flip flopping 788s/789s.

LOL. WS has presence there but are they going to waste a 789 frame on that route? Really? One would think more interesting places in Europe to fly.

Good. I'm glad they're willing to look at a new destination, instead of an existing WestJet station.

The next logical TB market for WestJet is probably BOS. It is YYC's largest unserved O&D market in the US and DL has a strong presence there. If it is BOS I would expect it to be summer seasonal.

With that being said, WS hasn't announced their 787 plans for next summer yet so I could also see an overseas destination being added. Not sure there are many destinations left in Europe that would be viable. Maybe Asia this time?

or maybe this new route is an airline other than WestJet?

Now one is close so far. I’d love Boston or Washington area though

Who doesn’t love a good mystery!

Can you give us a bigger hint....

New airline and a new route?
New airline and an existing route?
Existing airline and a new route?

North America or Overseas?

BOS and IAD were on AC's list for 223 routes ex-YYC.

There are three more 789 frames to be delivered this year, likely 1Q, so I am guessing a new seasonal WestJet route on a 789 and likely Europe. Don't think they are ready for Asia just yet - maybe next year. For Asia I would think ICN or HND, but I don't think we have any slots. Maybe BCN?

Unserved O&D from YYC -

HKG #5 41814 pax - or about 114 pax a day - if only A319s crossed the Pacific Ocean. Might be doable if they can get fill it with connecting. Not sure what the O&D threshold is.

Anyone got a list?

If they launched NRT you can bet AC would kill the route. I hope WS stays out of that airport.
