No pictures yet as I was driving by racing to my next meeting, but the site for the Martin Expo Town Center at Olympic and Bundy (one block north of the Bundy Expo Line station) has been fenced off with W. E. O'Neil signage, some very light demo on the existing buildings has begun (removing a few of the mansard roof panels), and I spied a couple of people in orange vests and hart hats touring the site. No heavy equipment yet, but it looks like this one is gearing up to start. This is great news, potentially, as it adds just over 500 residential units, including 100 affordable units within close proximity of transit. More of this, please!

The facade is taking shape and the outside treatment on Rise is a tad nicer than many similar projects around town.

I was confused a little, I thought that huge picture was the Martin car expo town center and was like wow that was fast. Nope just the mid rise complex in Hollywood near the Netflix tower/Godfrey hotel on Fountain.

I believe that's Cumulus. The Wrapper is a block or two west.

D'oh! Good catch, you two! Updated the post. Drove by Wrapper last week, and will drive by again today. Not quite at street level yet, but you can see considerable construction happening below grade, and should be at street level in the coming months.

Finally some upside progress. If it adds a floor a week, should top out by next Spring. 2 floors a week--maybe January? Twins look to be up to about the 12th floor...34 to go.

Century City really has a better skyline than many cities in the country.

^^^ True. If it were to be picked up and placed in almost any other state, it would be considered a manjor city on its own.

From Urbanize Los Angeles:

New Details Emerge for Immense North Hollywood Station TOD

Park-and-ride lot to make way for office space, retail, and mixed-income housing.

OCTOBER 15, 2019, 7:00AMSTEVEN SHARP

A staff presentation to the Metro Board's Planning and Programming Committee reveals new renderings for District NoHo, a joint development slated to replace the park-and-ride lot which surrounds the North Hollywood subway station.

The project, which is proposed by Trammell Crow Company, would replace a series of undeveloped sites near the intersection of Chandler and Lankershim Boulevards with multiple structures containing:

1,000-1,200 units of market-rate housing;

250-300 units of affordable housing;

80,000-120,000 square feet of retail space;

400,000-500,000 square feet of office space;

Over 2 acres of open space; and

915 parking spaces to use by transit riders.

Renderings depict a mix of low-rise and high-rise buildings, bisected by pedestrian passageways and a new street grid carved into the existing park-and-ride lot. The new construction would be accompanied by improvements to the transit hub, including an expanded bus transfer and layover facility capable of accommodating the Orange Line and future bus rapid transit service to Pasadena and the North San Fernando Valley.

Awesome and much much needed. Only issue is the ridiculous time line, but that blame falls on the city and state with the outrageous loops everyone has to jump through
