Not every street needs to be "gentrified" like Robson, especially Broadway which is a major east west corridor with high amounts of both vehicular and foot traffic. Between Granville and Main is also one of the busiest parts of Broadway so adding patios and stuff is the last thing it needs. What it does need is dedicated left turn signals and right turn lanes at the busier intersections.
