^^ Not in a bad way but it reminds me of something clutched in your tongs at a panaderia. I'm thinking one of those fancy conchas with the chocolate sugar crust on top.

Skyscrapers that remind me to go get Mexican bakery items. Cool.

I would really love a photo set of the McMk area. Arena, Hyatt and Hilton all new and whats going on with Motor Row. No expectation, just appreciation.

Pretty sure that's the elevator shaft. There are still south facing windows but most of them on the lower floors stare right into the blank wall of Walton on the Park. This site was supposed to host a twin or mirror image to that building but 2008 happened.

The most desirable views (if you're high enough) are of the lake, which is mostly to the north and east. The south view is blocked on most of the floors by Walton on the Park.

Are they? The lake is great as long as the sun is out, but it is down right creepy once it's down. One of the most surprisingly eery views I have seen is stepping off the elevator for the Signature Lounge, looking out over the dining room and seeing nothing but a deep black.

POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AT LAKE SHORE DR. AND WAVELAND

Many people have contacted Ald. Cappleman’s office about a preliminary proposal at this location in front of the 3660 N. Lake Shore Drive building. Currently, the potential developer is working out ingress, egress and other issues with the New York Private Residences located at 3660 and then will present to the larger community.
A reminder of what was originally proposed by Invsco over a decade ago:

353 is one of my favorite newer buildings in the city. As you said, the details are killer. I love the streamlined base too.

717 South Clark

Another surface lot may disappear soon.

I’ve seen plans for the mid-block lot at 717 South Clark. 29 floors/314’-9”, 349 units, 96 parking spaces. The building at 719 South Clark where Palmer Printing, the last printer of Printers Row was, would be saved and incorporated into the project. Architect is HPA.

No renderings, but typical glass box above parking. While the overall parking ratio is low, the narrow site means it gets stacked between levels 2-4.

Design subject to change, but they are going for a 12 FAR in a DX-12, thus it will be as of right. Out to bid right now.

Niiiice. Though I'm surprised the the number of units (or perhaps some other factor) wouldn't trigger the PD process, regardless of underlying zoning?

Hearing about a potential new tower that's dense which would replace an ugly surface lot always signals a good day.
