I don't think that Impark owns very many of the lots you see their signs on.

As far as I know they make most of their money from managing the parking on the lots for the land owners.

It would be wonderful if Cityplace opened CRUs along Hargrave, and restored the mezzanine/second floor windows around the building.

If the office tower ground floor were the same as you describe along Hargrave, it would instantly be one of the best little stretches of retail in the city. Fingers crossed that that happens one day

Recently opened Freshii has a Hargrave entrance in addition to the mall side.

Amazing project.....man. I'm not a massive fan of the orange cladding but it's alright.....and it's a bit early to judge it and it's relation to the rest of the project.

Pretty sure the idea was to blend into the red brick on the arena.

That door was left over from the 24 hour mailbox access when that CRU was a quick print franchise.

The renderings are completely ridiculous. A full glass hotel? Not only is that not possible in the building code, it could never work economically. Their hotel across the street is a 20 storey stucco box for goodness sake.

The SOPO renderings were much more realistic. And far nicer in my opinion.

Nah, the orange is fine, it will give the square some much needed colour.

Great pics guys!

Isnt this project remarkably true to the renderings? And how have they built all glass??

Next year's playoffs will be fun in the Square but I imagine they will still need road closures...unless my judgement of space sucks, looks like the Square wont fit 10,000+ (we'll see this Friday for Game 5 when its actually going to be warm out).

Maybe they could close Graham Av between Donald and Edmonton and let the party spill into the Hydro building...they have an outside plaza, dont they?

^ Wouldn't closing Graham gum up bus traffic?

The Graham intersection was closed at Donald. They just rerouted. They wouldn't be able to close too much of graham but I don't think one block would be the end of the world. I think closing Carlton would make a bit more sense when they host at TNS.

I was thinking they'd close Hargrave between Graham and St Mary (once the square is open)

I think If you did Carlton then people on the street would be able to see the screens in the plaza. Hargrave would mean people on the street don't have good access to the plaza except for the small entrance on that side. The west side of the plaza is much more open to the street.
