I try to avoid DT as much as possible these days so I never noticed the "Welcome to Historic Properties" and "Nova Scotia College of Art & Design" signage on the Morses Tea building. Beats the "This Space for Rent" sign that got put there after the old Morses signage was painted over I guess.

Actually that building is at the end of Granville, and the signage has been there for some time. You can see the Morse's building to the left at the edge of the Purdy's bldg, and just below the RBC emblem. Looks like the signage has something like "Your Name Here", or similar, which is cheesy at best.

No sense in beating a dead horse, but I really wish they had just left it alone until they were going to actually do something with it, but it is what it is... there's probably no going back.

I wish the city would ban most types of "for lease" signs. They look bad and they are not very important in an age when everybody looks for space online.

The Morse's Tea sign was an important part of the Historic Properties. Are there plans to recreate what some idiot decided to destroy?

It's too bad the Alexander wasn't 10 or 20 stories taller, being so close to the water, it appears it could have been easily taller, hidden behind Maritime Centre in the view plane.

I agree! Halifax's skyline is starting to flat-top. It needs a few 30+ storey buildings to mix it up a bit. Still a nice city skyline though.

Look at all the space taken up by the Cogswell interchange. Can't wait to see the same picture in 10 years. Also the density around SGR is looking great, especially with the Doyle.

The Doyle, with it's retail, will be a big step forward in connecting Spring Garden Road and Grafton-Argyle-Barrington pedestrian traffic.

I mean, I guess, but until it was demolished, the existing block was already occupied by a full block of retail. Probably more storefronts than the new building will have, actually.
