It is an expandable technology too, so you could start with this as a discrete pilot project and then expand if it goes well.
From the PTC end, for example, you could easily go over to the South Side, and/or you could run it along the river to Downtown and/or Hazelwood (although that makes less use of its difficult-terrain-crossing abilities, it is still a cheap way to add a dedicated transit line to that corridor, which is also constrained in terms of possible land routes by the river and the cliff).
From the Oakland end you could head to CMU, or to the Upper Campus area and ultimately into the Hill.
