Do any leaf fans know what is going on with the seats? weren't they supposed to be replaced or covered before the all start game?

I think MLSE did it right. Honda center is a big building they could have done 4 absolutely massive Tampa bay size screens no problem. And instead they went with this. I would say in size comparison the fans seated on the ends of the building didn't see much of an upgrade from the last board which was worst in the league either than maybe Detroit. yikes...I would be absolutely pissed if I was a STH behind the net. Either way its disproportionation to the size of the arena and quite underwhelming when looking at the ACC's new board. Or any other scoreboard début lately for that matter

The sleek lines and proportions of the ACC board are wonderful. Honda Centre one is just ugly. The upper rings of the Quebec one look too small and are clipped off by the large screen below. MTS Centre upper rings overwhelm the main screen. I also like how the ACC board fits together rather than looking like a bunch of different elements tacked together

I agree the ribbons on VTC looks quite small for such a big board,

I really like the ACC's board. It looks incredible. I wish MTS would utilize the lower board for the statics the way ACC's does

I have to agree... the new ACC scoreboard looks the best by far. Based on the size and the different screen sections, it looks like it'll be the most useful to fans.

Snap shot from the Habs pens game tonight at Videotron in Quebec. Apparently the go habs go Chants were drowned out by boo's. The battle of Quebec lives on... The place sold out tonight. That has to send a message to the league. The Nords need to be back in Quebec and fast.

I guess they can smell the return of the Nordiques.

Quebec City has been pretty solid Habs territory in the years since the Nordiques left. I guess they're getting ready psychologically to start hating them again.

Was at the ACC last week and the scoreboard looks great in person. You don't even notice it.. well you do.. but it fits in so well with the Arena bowl shape that is blends in very well and you just notice the projection boards very nicely. It is a very nice accent.
Which is what a video board should do and not overwhelm the place (Cowboys Stadium). I think they added new ribbon boards on the the side "fan decks", those may of been there last year though and I don't remember.

The ACC needs to do more with theater style lighting as it makes the board look better when the lights are a bit more dimmed and you see the glowing leaf.

Aside from that I don't know what new seats they are putting in, stuff looks the same to me. Plus they have not scraped the inside of the bowl of the old Raptors logos. You have massive walls covered in the old logo and it already looked tacky when it was up before but now its much worse as its not even relevant.

That tackiness is something that has always really bothered me about the ACC. Richest team in the NHL and a Building that serves 2 teams you would figure they could do a better job at dressing up the place. Everywhere you look its got an add for something in a really terrible way. I understand its different in the staples center with different ownership groups but you can barley tell 2 teams play there let alone 3.

The angle of the seats @ Videotron in Quebec is awesome. I bet that place gets incredibly loud and provides a ridiculous atmosphere!

Radio-Canada have a reporter in NYC covering Vidéotron presentation to the NHL Board of Governors. He said today he informally polled all of the NHL owners and none of them said they were opposed to a return of the Nordiques. I believe they need a two thirds majority vote to get back into the league.

Interesting.

Looks like the South Stand will not be retractable and the field will be off centre with only a retractable North Stand.

Doesn't look that bad IMO though.

I like it.

EDIT: on second look it looks as if the first couple rows in the south end retract as well.

I called this years ago. There was no way a CFL Field was going to fit unless they collapsed the north stands up to the property line. The original plan called for both sides to be rebuilt let us not forget... that was scrapped... so it was always going to be a dogs breakfast plan instead. With the window to reconstruct the south end now gone due to the concourse construction the CFL configuration will never be ideal, there just isn't enough room.

But this photo still shows no specifics. There are physical suites and club structures in that north end that would have to be demolished, there is the service bay that can't be moved, there is also the lofty ideal that they still want to have a continuous concourse which will still have to happen somehow, plus no details on how the seats will retract back, this is just a pretty picture for the press for the news conference on Thursday.

TFC upgrades continue on so whatever Argo plan will be pasted in quickly. It will be a big project this winter to get things all ready regardless but it won't be ideal for the Argos in anyway. These are TFC upgrades and always have been and will continue be.

The Argos are getting:

A field to play on..
Locker rooms
Broadcast and light upgrades

That is it.

I remember this photo that surfaced from the Ex-Place board meeting. The room BMO Field has to work with can't change and they still will likely float turf end zones ...

^^ This is from the June 23rd meeting. I believe Ex Place board meets again in October and November? So a final plan has to be presented one of those days.

Even if it is off-centre you can still sell seats at centrefield for a premium price. Usually seats between the 30 yard lines sell at the highest price so not a big deal in this case. While it's disappointing if true regarding the off-centre field for the CFL at least all the seats will be unobstructed (unlike Barclay's Centre for hockey) and the atmosphere will be considerably better than Rogers Centre.
