Atlanta developers want to build a 165,000-square-foot office building in the Old Fourth Ward, a $55 million project that reflects the continued influx of people, investment, housing and jobs back to the neighborhood where Martin Luther King Jr. was born.
The terracotta stone and glass building, designed by the architect Gensler, is meant to echo Old Fourth Ward landmarks, such as the former Sears warehouse on Ponce de Leon Avenue, and capture the vibe of cool urban projects including the headquarters for The Gap Inc. in San Francisco.
