100% agreed!!! On that note, I regularly have picnics in parks and beaches around town in the summer, almost always with a bottle of wine or a few beers, and have yet to ticketed, let alone warned of committing an offence. One of my favourites is walking on the Ottawa River pathway from home to Bluesfest with my buddies each of us with a beer or two in hand . Then you have SAQ advertising in Quebec -often picnic-themes, kinda funny, since they are essentially promoting something thats illegal here, but widely done/accepted everywhere else on the planet. QC gvt encouraging its population to break the law, hahaha. Just change the drinking in public laws to match the rest of the developed world. And make a distinction between drinking in public (which should be legal) and public intoxication (which depending on how severe, should be illegal).
