HYATT HOUSE DOWNTOWN/COP

Source: http://www.atlantadowntown.com/go/hyatt-house

Does anyone have an idea of which direction this rendering details? I'm thinking Northwest at Ivan Allen and Marietta St since it's address is 431 Marietta.

Thanks!

It's the northeast corner. The facade on the left abuts Marietta Street, and the one on the right abuts Ivan Allen.

95% leased

This is sure to stoke the development fire currently being planned for the area...

http://atlanta.curbed.com/archives/2013/...s-at-12th-midtown-unprecedented.php#more

1138 peachtree, 98 14th steet, and the 12th and midtown lot across peachtree will more than likely try to build on this momentum.

This is a gorgeous picture of the 12th & Midtown development.

This is superb news. The momentum is definitely building. This bodes well for the area and I can see one of the three projects you mentioned being fast-tracked.

Foundation work has begun on 3380 P'tree (Former Dante's down the Hatch). A 10-story condo with 227 units was last plan I saw. Brassfield Gorrie are the builders.

That's it? What a joke. Corey should have sold that land to GSU, but apparently it's GSU's fault that he didn't. And he had the nerve to call this Atlanta's best monument. GTFOH

191's new different color lights probably turn more heads than this will. Who wants a smokestack to be the city's "best" monument anyway...

Wait 191 peachtree (one of my favorite buildings) getting color lights?!?!? When???? And for downtown it will be cool but I think it should be digital for downtown to get it poppin like take all these crappy billboard and use these to make something like a timesquare, vegas, dubai, atlantic stationist like thing for downtown.Ex put diffrent color lights on each building so those certain buildings like around 400ft can be known or etc. Does anyone agree

That would be an original concept, something for which Atlanta is not known.

They lit the top of it but I'm not sure if the color changes rapidly, or if it just glows one color but then changes every so often.

In regard to the smoke stack, what's the point of the color testing? I thought this thing was supposed to get huge digital billboards?

What? What a silly comment...Atlanta is known for some pretty original concepts, just maybe not what you consider important.

In order to get away from the cookie cutter it takes money. We're not exactly a wealthy region, so I don't think we'll be seeing a synchronized lighting scheme across the tall buildings in downtown Atlanta anytime as thebigATL was imagining. And I doubt we'll see the connector replaced with a water feature. But it's nice to imagine. Sometimes dreams really do come true.

I'm done. The mods can delete or move this to the Atlanta thread if they wish.

10 restaurant tenants announced for Buckhead Atlanta

Le Bilboquet is an upscale French bistro that has been located near Manhattan’s Central Park for more than 25 years. It also has locations in Dallas, Texas, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

American F+B is a concept from Dallas, Texas-based Consilient Hospitality. It will take about 5,500 square feet at Buckhead Atlanta, located at North Fulton and Buckhead Avenue.Consilient Hospitality also will open a second concept at Buckhead Atlanta. It’s likely a pizza concept, either under the name Fireside Pies or 13 Pies.

Lugo Caffe is an Italian café concept from New York-based restaurant group LDV Hospitality with locations in New York City and Atlantic City. The restaurant offers its own lines of Prosecco, Chianti and Pinot Grigio, and specializes in homemade pastas.

Corso Coffee is an Italian-style coffee bar from LDV Hospitality. It offers espresso-based beverages, breakfast pastries, salads and paninis. It also has locations in New York City and Atlantic City.

Doraku Sushi is a Japanese concept that first opened in South Beach, Fla. It’s from Kevin Aoki, son of the founder of Benihana. The restaurant, which also has locations in Hawaii and Vietnam, has extensive sushi and sake menus.

Georgetown Cupcake is a bakery featured on the TLC network show “DC Cupcakes.”

Gypsy Kitchen and The Southern Gentlemen are two concepts from the founders of Atlanta’s The Big Ketch and Tin Lizzy’s. The two restaurants will share a 10,000-square-foot spot. Gypsy Kitchen will be a Spanish fusion concept. The Southern Gentleman will be a gastropub. A permit for the two restaurants was recently filed, estimating construction costs at $1.2 million.

Shake Shack will open its first Georgia location at Buckhead Atlanta. The burger, hot dog and frozen custard stand from New York City restaurateur Danny Meyer and Union Square Hospitality Group will take about 2,500 square feet and will have a rooftop deck.

MXD slated for site across from edgewood retail district.

A developer hopes to build a 275-unit apartment complex with retail across the street from the Edgewood Retail District. Curbed has learned that developer Greystar is seeking zoning changes to 20 individual parcels in Reynoldstown, just south of Little Five Points. Mostly along Moreland Avenue but wrapping around to front parts of Wade Street, Brantley Street and Seaboard Avenue. The mixed-use rezoning requests filed on behalf of Greystar mention plans for 275 residential units and 30,390 square feet of commercial space.
