Fortress details have yet to be released publicly. But speculation on here is that it could be 36 storey's. Future tower is all but confirmed. News release was for an $80M project. Their twitter feed today said the COO was in Winnipeg yesterday and things are moving along. Details to be released soon.

no one has any specific information other than possibly truvike, but what is known is that fortress is planning to build their project in 2 phases. the first phase is rumored to be a 36 story mixed use building on a lot near the shed district. Phase 2 would be the construction of a smaller building beside it im assuming this would also be mixed use proposal.

My apologies. I was under the assumption that this recently happened. I knew of those postings from December of last year. Thanks though.

Fortress originally stated the project was in the SHED then issued a correction that it was outside the SHED. They also said the public announcement of the details would happen after Jan 1, 2013.

CenterVenture has also publicly commented on helping Fortress find a property. Around the same time as the general Fortress announcement CenterVenture had come to a deal to purchase the St Regis Hotel and several parking lots. Those parking lots on right next to the SHED which could explain the initial confusion.

This week Fortress indicated their COO was in Winnipeg, likely working on details for the project. The full announcement is still forthcoming.

Subway obtained a lease from the city in July 2011 to put a store in. It was taking so long to put it in I had thought that either they could not find somebody to operate it, or the operators of City Place Subway (and maybe the lunch hour one at MTS center) had complained to Head Office about having one so close that it could draw off sales.

I was half expecting to see Tim Horton's also put a unit in the skywalk so they could capitalize on the foot traffic from the Skywalk and / or the Police HQ next door when it opens.

You're never going to get that smell out, either. It's pervasive.

That section of skywalk already always smells funky. I don't know what it is but that jungle cafe place smells weird.

But I thought Glass and Alt were 24 and 25 stories when you added the lower section, have they reduced floors? And wasn't Heritage 27? I KNow Heritage keeps changing, but last time I looked it was 27. I could be off though.

Also what about the rumored 37 story one, that I think Viking sorta said was still going down?

Ah well, anything that replaces parking lots is good.
Just to start....

The number of stories i mentioned for Glasshouse and Alt are correct unless any future changes are made.

^ the project I was speaking of will not be 37 stories...not sure it ever was.....my friends in low places tell me it likely will not happen in any incarnation at this point.

The Fortress proposal is still in a very Preliminary Design stage. It is proposed as a 32 storey tower on a 4 storey podium and a secondary tower of undetermined height pending the success of the first tower. I would imagine that marketing will start this summer.
