I think that Montreal would look ugly with more buildings at 200m because it would create a ''plateau''. I think its better to build buildings around 150-170m for our skyline to look good.

Absolutely! Montreal needs to build multiple highrises which will eliminate downtown surface parking lots instead of a few very tall tower whose impact on street level experience will be limited. That being said, the projects recently announced will indeed have a somewhat important impact on the skyline when observed from St-Lambert. The development of the westen side of the skyline is particularly apparent. On the following picture, I added (very approximately) some of the said projects on the west side. Other eastward projects (which I haven't added) might actually be visible from that angle (Altoria, Altitude, SNC-Lavalin, Cité Internationale, etc) but their effect on the skyline will be more limited.

It seems Montreal didn't skip the party; it was just fashionably late! It will be nice if we still have Montreal to keep us entertained once the boom has exhausted itself in the other cities.

Some of us have European ancestors; Canada is a product of world immigration and has moved quite far away from being European. I'm originally from Europe and Canada strikes me as throughly its own place which is a wonderful thing. Besides, colonial people look to the mother country. Canada stopped thinking like a colony a very long time ago. Seeking inspiration from beyond our borders is natural, but Canada has reached a point where it's secure enough in itself that it doesn't look to former colonial powers like it did 100 years ago. We developed our own sports, our own cuisine, our own architecture, etc. that speaks to our Canadian mosaic, climate, society, etc.

Appears to use Vancouver as a basis, looks to be based in Harbour green park with it's wall, the Renassice, Pinnacle, black tower and Guiness tower clearly visible.

Nevermind blue balls, apparently. I really don't know what to think of this proposal. It looks extremely fictional and impractical. I need to research its context as I have no clue what this building's use may be, aside from wanting the International Space Station to see how pro-phallic the city is.

There's nothing to research. It's just a concept/vision by one of Toronto's tackier architectural firms. It has no chance of being a real proposal.

It obviously has the look of a fantasy proposal, nothing that could ever seriously be given consideration to being built. However, something more realistic looking of a similar height would look great in this location.
